RoHs
With the Guideline 2002/95/EG for the restriction of certain hazardous substances in electric and electronic equipment from 27 January 2003 (RoHs), the European Union intends to considerably reduce the environmental pollution resulting from certain substances which are dangerous to health and the environment.
In Germany, this guideline is implemented by the “ElektroG” from 18 February 2005.
For us as manufacturers of electronic equipment from a legal perspective, this means: As of 1 July 2006, we may not place any electric or electronic equipment on the market whose homogenous (inseparable) single components contain:
more than 0.1% by weight of the heavy metals:
or the brominated flame retardants:
- polybrominated biphenyle (PBB)
- polybrominated diphenylether (PBDE)
and / or more than 0.01% by weight of the heavy metal:
With the co-operation our suppliers we introduced all necessary steps so that we can deliver our products since 1 July 2006 in compliance with the RoHs.
